Challenge
I had introduced myself to Julia on LinkedIn back in 2025. When her marketing consultancy, House Digital Ltd, won a three-month retainer contract with Secret Escapes a year later, she reached out to me to localise some of the brand’s website content. With their great German TV ads in mind, I was thrilled to accept the project. Secret Escapes was looking for someone to nail their recently updated German tone of voice and adapt category pages and blog content to reflect new customer research and appeal to more users in Germany.
Process
The content team at House Digital shared all relevant brand guidelines and customer research with me so I could prepare accordingly. We then created a Google Sheet with every category page and blog article that needed editing to reflect new SEO data, transcreation, or writing from scratch. Given the high volume and fast pace of this content project, we aimed for around 10 pieces per month. As soon as I’d completed a piece of content, House Digital and I went through a final feedback loop before handover.
Outcome
While the project was quite intense (which is common for a big SEO push like this), Julia and her team at House Digital did an excellent job of organising the workload and deadlines from the start, which allowed me to plan ahead and deliver over 30 category and blog pages without missing a deadline, unless otherwise agreed. It was great to see how many existing pieces could benefit from an update based on the latest SEO input. The new German content reads more naturally and feels much more tailored to Secret Escape’s audience.
Client Feedback
"Belinda has been fantastic to work with. Her diligence and attention to detail is phenomenal and makes working with her a super, seamless experience, as does her regular communication. I would recommend anyone to work with Belinda for their German transcreation needs!"
